Tears and Laughter..........

What a week for mixed emotions...... Nannie & Grandad finally left for England after their extended stay due to the volcano, this was much harder to say goodbye as I had got used to having them here. They got off safely and now my project is to research the tickets for us to fly back this summer with BooBoo having her 1st trip solo :)

Booboo and Bambeano had baths last night and were patiently waiting for Papa to come home before they went off to bed. BooBoo was in bed when Papa approached her room he saw all of her cuddly toys (trust me she has a far few0 and been sorted and separated to some on the left side of the bed and some on the right side. Papa wondered why the separation, has she finally given up on some that we could send to goodwill, no such luck, she had actually sorted out the left ones were ones made in China and the right ones were not. Papa was amazed to see how little there was on the right side of the bed. On hearing this story I quietly smiled to myself and though, bless.

Now patiently waiting for Soccer Saturday.........

What a week for the Bowden Clan......

Boy where do I start this week has been crazy for all the Bowden clan......

It first started Monday when we found out Nannie and Grandad were not flying home as scheduled due to the volcano in Iceland and the volcanic ash drifting over England, all flights grounded. The next available flight we got them booked on was April 28 ANOTHER 9 DAYS!!!!!! I was excited with the news has I hadn't really had time to enjoy them as Papa and I had a vacation while they babysat and then they left for a vacation. Monday day off from work turned into lunch at Papa's new restaurant with Bambeano, Nannie & Grandad and then military operation to try and get Nannie's medication filled due to the the unexpected extended vacation....

Yesterday it was "Bring your Sons and Daughters to work Day" it is a National program that companies can decide to participate in. Thankfully mine does and Boo Boo has finally reached the age that is required. She was assigned into 5 classes for each department to teach and educate the children to help them develop themselves for the future. The theme for this year is 1 Youth, 1 Dream, 2Morrow’s Leader. Boo Boo had the opportunity of visiting Marketing & Culinary (of course this had to be an added topic given Papa's background in culinary) where she learnt about foods, spices and watched "a funny dancing man" (I learnt it was one of my fellow English transplants who was trying to entertain the kids).

Her next class was Treasury, my department, when we taught the children about credit cards, expense audit (my world), cash management and accounts receivable and tied it all into a kid's jeopardy game. Next onto lunch I really enjoyed having lunch with Boo Boo, it was a whole lot different than going to school and meeting her at her lunch time. Lunch was followed by Boo Boo's next class IT (Information Technology) Boo Boo really excels in computers she is very techy savvy and they learnt how to build a website. Boo Boo finished with HR (Human Resources) and Communications (where she learnt about logos and visual recognition.

All in all I think she had a very fun filled day and I think after about the 3rd group of children I entertained/taught my ears were ringing from the shouting in jeopardy game they all did. Thankfully I only had 4 groups and the 1st slot I actually was able to get back to my desk and get SOME work done.

now onto the week end.....another Saturday soccer filled day in which hopefully Bambeano will be able to get to play :)

Soccer Saturday..........

So Saturday for the Bowden is in full swing to be renamed Soccer Saturday but we had a twist this week.......

Papa started bright and early with PeeWee photos and practice followed by Bambeano's pictures but after trying for 20 minutes to get his soccer boots on he was in dire pain. Thinking it was a blister we padded it and went on our way. Bambeano was in real pain so much he didn't play soccer so I knew it was bad.

BooBoo played her heart and her team won 1-0 after the game Bambeano was really in pain that he couldn't walk. We assessed his foot and it didn't look like a blister but more like a insect bite so off to Urgent care we went.......he has an insect bite that has turned into a staph infection so we have to go back again today to have it assessed, poor Bambeano.

After rushing back from urgent care mummy got changed to join Papa on the soccer field for the 1st of 2 double headers games for the adult games for Team Bowden before leaving to pick my parents from the airport.....phew what a tiring day

Living my life..... with dire consequences

So yesterday I had to work a little later than usual and Papa was on point to get the kids from day care and after school. When I returned home about 6.20 pm the house was amazingly quiet, Papa was cooking and the kids were nowhere to be seen.

I asked Papa where the kids were and he said in time out, oh boy what in the world happened I thought to myself. Papa is the cool and collective out of the two of us so they must have done something real bad.

So the story begins.......Papa picked the kids up and decided to take them to CVS to purchase the silly bands (a bracelet turn shape craze that kids are currently in) on reaching CVS there were 2 buckets with the packets of bracelets..... One marked $2.99 and the other $4.99. Of course both Boo Boo and Bambeano went straight for the $4.99. Papa explained he was only buying $2.99 and that they should put the others back, Bambeano complied but BooBoo on the other hand went crazy, screaming, stomping her feet, pouting and completely defiant (I know hard to believe but I tell you this girl can have tantrums like you wouldn't believe).

Finally after much discussion in the store, Papa got a responding "FINE THEN" from BooBoo who proceeded to throw the packet in the tub and storm off someone else in the store (she knows the rule she cannot leave a store so at least that didn't happen). Meanwhile Papa who gets mortified at any public drama tried to defuse the situation by negotiating with BooBoo and proceeding to the tills with 2 packets (one for BooBoo and one for Bambeano) ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!! After that outburst with me she would have got ZILCH

Oh but let me tell you it didn't stop there. Papa started to pay and Bambeano, who closer to the till and started to pick both packets which resulted in BooBoo thinking he was taking both so she started a full scale fight with her brother in the store. (Knowing Papa's mortifying state in any public attention I can just about imagine his face when he was telling me all this that I was trying oh so hard not to laugh)

After trying to break up the fight he left CVS with NO bracelets and canceled the order.......

Welcome to my world honey this, while not such as extreme, is a reoccurring event when I collect the kids especially if they cannot play outside and release some of the excitement/energy

Report Cards.......

The 3rd report card for BooBoo was released yesterday and boy did she make mummy & Papa proud. She is well on her way to her reward of flying to England on her own this summer.

She is excelling in all areas and has really put her heart and soul into her work. She wants to work with animals when she is older and knows it will take a lot of hard work and determination to get there. After yesterday's report card she has started on the right foot.

Way to go BooBoo mummy and daddy are very proud of you :)

Vacation over :(

So BooBoo and Bambeano have had their fun at the beach with Nannie and Grandad while we had a "no kids" vacation to San Francisco and Sonoma/Napa for some much needed relaxing. The wineries were awesome, sitting on the decks with the sun shining and the wine flowing.... HEAVEN.

Back to reality and soccer Saturday now in full swing. This week saw the 1st week of the adult spring season aswell.

1st up Bambeano's game and I managed to DVD the game and capture his 1st goal. His team won 5-0 and are unbeaten at this stage. Way to go Bambeano. BooBoo wasn't as lucky her team lost 1-0 but they fought their hearts out playing only 7 people to match the other team who were short and I think this is what brought them down as they were not used to this.

Onto our game and after being up 4-0 one of our players, and friend, Brad had an excruciating yell as his knee popped and he was out of the game off to the ER, with 10 minutes left we were left to play the game. No sooner had 5 minutes passed then I was the next casualty after being shoved to the ground head first. Off for a trip to the ER for me, I was uneasy on my feet and vomiting so it was best to get checked out. After a CT scan I was given the all clear, diagnosed with concussion but 2 days later my heads still hurts alot. Let's hope this week is not a long one......
