Soccer or Halloween........

I know it has been a while since I blogged, no excuses, time escaped me and trust me when I say I wanted to keep it up but work and home life what can I say....

I have thought about restarting and tonight seemed to be the perfect moment.  I was on soccer practice duty and happened to have a friend's daughter with me car pooling.

The trip home saw us past a few Halloween house decorated houses and the topic between my two little passengers, Bambeano and his friend was a comical at time.  Of course seeing Halloween houses the discussed trick or treating.  Bambeano was quick to mention that Boo Boo had practice and may miss trick or treating.

My additional passenger proceeded to state she was glad she didn't have practice as she didn't want to miss all the candy......my little bamboo was very to point and very serious with his comeback.....

He hoped he had practice as soccer practice as the extra practice makes him faster, better skilled and helps him score more his friend responds with I still want the candy to which he replied candy is not good for you........hmmm should I be proud or should I remind him of this conversation on Halloween night.

Certainly made me smile during the drive home from practice :)

Time escapes me but all for a good cause....

Today we have a dreary raining day in NC = a lazy sweats day catching up on items.................

Our life has been one crazy train but I wouldn't change it for anything....sure I haven't had time to write on my blog but that is because we have had plenty of family time, running the kiddos to their various activities, sorting out summer camps and more importantly summer VACAY!!!!!

Bombshell is working today so I have to hold the fort today....I know I have laundry on the agenda but nothing will be better that catching up on DVR and snuggling on the sofa with my cozy blanket, maybe add a Ryan Reynolds to the mix, yummy, why not if Bombshell isn't here I need some eye candy :).

Saturdays have been crazy with soccer some wins, some losses, lots of goals and more importantly FUN the only difference Bombshell and I have taken a break, Bombshell to give his back some helaing after his procedure, me, I just wasn't enjoying it anymore.

Boo Boo has been on the field more this season and has had nearly scored, she did have 3 assists and in the last 4 games has kept a clean sheet in goal and came away with 4 wins.  She is growing fast and every time I blink she seems to have grown a foot.  Won't be long before she overtakes me :(  She is excelling well in school with A's and B's and this week I had the opportunity to tour her new school for next year, this girl is going to middle school.......why do they grow up so fast?

Bambeano is doing great with his soccer with 9 goals in the last 4 games with 5 of them last week end and I missed it :(......as I was on soccer tournament duty with Boo Boo.  He is really enjoying soccer and as even started training with Boo Boo's club he is super excited for try outs and I am excited for him too.  I have seen his development grow this past season he really gives his all and puts his heart into it.  At school he has really evolved proudly showing me his green calendar for the month.

I am so proud of both of them they really do great....even if they do fight like cats and dogs with each other......

Bombshell has been a busy bee around the house.  The yard looks FABULOUS and the veggie and herb garden are starting to take shape....can't wait to taste the goods.    I really am so lucky to have Bombshell in my life.

A busy rest of the year is in store.....VACAY to my fav spot on the Gulf of Mexico in July and Nannie and Grandad are meeting us there I am so happy, at the end of July Boo Boo and I are running in our first 5k race, Electric Run I am super excited.  I have been training for some time and really excited and nervous at the same time, I know Boo Boo will smoke me but what a GREAT experience for us both, glow sticks galore :)

To finish the year I am flying solo back to England and up to Scotland for my cousin's wedding.  I am super excited to be seeing everyone and can't wait.....

Until next time.........

Forgive me for I have sinned......

I cannot believe I have been SO slack in keeping up with my blog.....no excuses I just suck...

Here I am with the first chapter of our 2013 adventures. ........We ended 2012 with some great family time.  My mum and Dad AKA Nannie and Grandad came for Christmas and I was again able to keep the visit a secret and boy was it a long enough secret....they booked in March.........

I so miss family get togethers one of my negative things about living Stateside........

Christmas was great and I LOVED having my parents here and I was able to make the most of it having over 2 weeks out of the office.  We hung out with our great friends and my parents got to watch one of Bambeano's games and of course he scored, TWICE!!!!

Santa was good to the kids and to Mummy, Bombshell spoilt me and this was after I got my main gift of new kitchen appliances, funny thing is I don't even do the cooking LOL.

Roll on to January and what a whirl wind month that was......Bombshell got his NSCAA (National Soccer Coaches Association of America) qualification but in return put his back out really bad...more to come on this.....We had two birthdays....mine and Boo Boo's how can she be 11 already and I am 1 year closer to the BIG 40!!!  We celebrated both birthdays with our favorite family (who I consider the closest I have to family stateside :)) and before I knew it we were onto February......

February saw the full on sought of nightly practices for Boo Boo ready for her soccer games but every time we got to the week end for a game mother nature had other plans, 3 games canceled hopefully today is the luck of the draw :)

Of course last February we had our 1st Bowden-Woodward Road Trip, followed by our 2nd Road Trip and what a huge success they were that we had to follow with a 3rd Road Trip to the mountains and boy this was AWESOME, the house, the company, the kids learning to ski and the food and drink......so much next year is on the cards and even maybe a summer trip.......the only down side was Bombshell's back being in such bad shape.....I feel so bad he was in so much pain......

To finish the month Bombshell went to a spine specialist and ended up have a minor procedure in his back that involved an injection to relieve some pain he has been experiencing and I had to be Nurse Wife for the day and week end after.

February also saw me visit Nashville, TN, while a quick business trip my boss was on hand to show me some sights as she grew up around the area...I had a blast loved the sights....definitely a place I would like to return too....

Well I think that is a quick snapshot of how my past few months have gone and I am now going to make week end mornings my day to reflect the week and write on my blog......

Where in the world is JoJo?

Hi everyone... the last few weeks, especially days have been a whirlwind....The holidays are coming thick and fast and we have been busy trying to get ready for Christmas and wrap up last minute things at school.

In the midst of this craziness we have had a visitor in the house, JoJo.  Our friendly Elf from Elf on the Shelf he came just after thanksgiving and has been delivering updates to Santa every night.  Every morning the kids look for where he ends up after coming back form the North Pole and boy has he been found in some crazy places doing crazy things....

He has been planking, playing board games, hanging in lights, having a sleepover and playing cards...I'm amazed Marley has not barked with all the noise going on....it will be sad to see him go on Christmas Eve but until then JoJo we hope you continue to have fun....

So I know I stated in my last post that I would have a longer blog and I tried but recent event in Newtown leaves me sad and confused that something so awful could happen to those darling angels.  May peace be with the families...my thoughts and prayers are with all the residents of Newtown
