is it really over........

Wow this Saturday just seemed a little strange.  No soccer games for Bambeano or Boo Boo.  Bambeano got knocked out in the Quarter finals by 3 goals to 0. so Saturday we spent the days at the soccer fields watching the 5/6 year old semi finals and finals as well as the 7/8 year old finals.

Of course we are not done with soccer just yet Mummy & Papa had the start of the Adult soccer tournament and as unbeaten we were the number 1 seed scheduled against red who finished 8th out of 8.  Papa despite the bad back was itching to get out on the field of course I protested but I think he was adamant to be part of the tournament.

Remembering the last 2 seasons we lost 2nd to Orange and knocked out early in the tournament round so this year we were back for vengeance and that we did.  We won in great fashion 5-0.  Papa missed a header but another team player followed up to score and even mummy nearly got on the score sheet only a few feet wide.

Now onto next week......... 

Bombshell Bowden hits the mark........

So last night it was Bambeano's turn for the 1st round soccer tournament and boy was he on fire.

He had several shots on goal but not one could go in so we went to overtime and then penalties.  Not sure I could take this 2 nights in a row.  1st up one of the girls on Jack's team, saved, the other team shot was saved by our goalie and then next up BAMBEANO.............

SCORED!!!!!!! Big powershot to the right corner right past the goalie,  And now we were on the score sheet.  It didn't stop after 5 penalties so we had to go into overtime penalties.  We were up 1st and another rocket shot puts the score up to 3-2, other team takes the shot and it is SAVED!!!!!

End of Soccer Season for Boo Boo

Last night boo Boo's soccer team, Blue Cyclones, had the 1st round of their end of season soccer tournament.  Going into the game they were 3rd out of 14 games with only 2 losses but as we have learnt soccer tournaments the kids seem a different sense that it means more than the regular season.

Papa had to put on his head coach hat as the other coach was not available.  He did great screaming from the sidelines and walking up and down coaching the kids.

We scored in the 2nd quarter, we were up 1-0.  Boo Boo took a corner kick but it was blocked and she took the 2nd shot into the box and GOALLLLLL her other team mate caught the end of it and popped it in the goal  An assist for Boo Boo.  WAY TO GO BOO BOO. 

Oh how exciting.......but how how things change in a blink of an eye.  with only 30 seconds to go the other team scored........1-1.  My heart sank.  Boo Boo had 2 shots on goal and both were saved now into sudden death only this season they have changed the rules to play 5 minutes extra time no sudden goal and if it still remains a tie then into penalties.

Here we are at penalties.  Up 1st is the other team..... We save and onto Boo Boo.........  she goes a centimetre wide NO GOAL :(  and so it went on we lost on penalties.

I am so proud of how Boo Boo played last night and all season.  She did awesome!!!!!  Way to go Boo Boo
